Bake the World a Better Place

I love giving back and helping my community!

In October 2016, I had the opportunity to participate in Cookies for Kids Cancer. Our team raised $1,100 and OXO Baking Company matched that! It was so much fun and I hope to do it again this year!

For Christmas 2016, I decided to use 10% of my profits to buy Christmas dinner for families in need at my school. When friends and family heard what I was doing, they jumped in to help, and we were able to provide food for 20 families!

In April 2017, I heard about a lady on the news that was severely injured while watching an ATV Razor race. She lived in my community and was a single mother with 2 small children. I wanted to do something to help, so I started selling cookies to raise money for her. I baked over 30 dozen cookies and made $700. I donated all of it to her family.

In September 2017, I wanted to do something to help the Hurricane victims. I decided to sell pumpkin bread and donate the money. I mailed a check for $760 to Lee Elementary School in Tampa, FL. The school was destroyed when it caught fire shortly after the power was turned back on after Hurricane Irma. My mom talked to the principal and she said this money will go into an account for the teachers to help replace things they lost in the fire!

For Christmas 2017, I used all the money from my November orders to sponsor 2 children from The Children’s Advocacy Center. I had so much fun shopping for their Christmas presents!

For Christmas 2018, I used my baking money to buy 14 hams so some families in need can have a Christmas dinner. I got some hot chocolate too, because I think everyone deserves to drink hot chocolate on Christmas morning

I signed up to volunteer for Icing Smiles, Inc. last year and finally received my first call to action! Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides cakes and cookies to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. They asked me to make cookies for a little girl battling Holoprosencephaly. I hope she enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making them for her!

I got to volunteer for Icing Smiles, Inc. again! These cookies are headed to a little girl that has been battling brain cancer.img_2285

I made cookies to drop off at The CALL in NWA! They have a freezer meal ministry and they use the freezer meals to bless foster families. I thought it would be nice for the families to have a little treat with their meal!
